In Gasoline Drum, Street's softer side is again shown when he risks his life to save a terrified young girl, Ela, who is unwillingly left behind by her mother and brother when heavily armed intruders break into their home. However, despite his impulsiveness and wisecracking attitude, Street is shown to kind-hearted and caring, especially towards young children, as shown in Cuchillo, when he comforts Caspar Jemenez, the terrified young son of the woman who testified against Cuchillo, and teaches him a trick taught to Street by Buck on how to remain calm in scary situations. In Octane, Hondo tells Cortez that, although he feels that Street has come a long way since his rocky start, he still believes that Street is overconfident and unpredictable. in order to do a favor for his imprisoned mother, which results in him assaulting a civilian. He somewhat settles down following pep-talks from both Hondo and Chris, but he is still shown to be impulsive and reckless at times, such as in Pamilya, when he abandons his duties to S.W.A.T. In Cuchillo, whilst looking into Street's background, Luca and Tan note that Street was a "kick-ass cop" during his tenure with the Long Beach Police Department, but also warn that he had faced numerous disciplinary charges and had been transferred between units. In the beginning, Street is shown as an impulsive hotshot and rule-breaker who likes to do things on his own. The two of them part on bad terms for long time Eventually, after finding out his mother has been using drugs, Street reports his mother to her parole officer for skipping parole check-ins and continuous use of drugs and narcotics, which leads his mother to be sent back to prison. When he receives words that his mother went missing, Street, learning from his previous mistakes, goes straight to Hondo regarding the situation. Then Hicks and Hondo reveal that Street will rejoin SWAT on a probationary period for 6 months. After weeks back at the academy, despite not being chosen back at SWAT, Deacon decides to bring Street back for one day. Hondo accepts his apology and gets him into SWAT Academy once over. Afterwards, he apologizes to Hondo, stating he was right all along. Ultimately, in the season 1 finale, Street strains his relationship with the team to deal with another crisis involving his mother, which leads to Hondo booting him off SWAT.Įventually, after learning that his mother restarted using drugs behind his back, Street breaks ties with her and moves out of his house. After her release from prison, he lets her stay at his place. He still visits his mother in prison, although his manipulative and probably mentally ill mother does take advantage of him, which leads him into more trouble with Hondo. Early on, Street proves to be a hotshot cop and a lone wolf, taking dangerous risks to get the bad guys, making Hondo question whether or not he's fit for S.W.A.T. His closest remaining contact from that time was his temporary foster brother, Nate, as well as Buck who keeps an eye on Street throughout his police academy training until Street manages to get into S.W.A.T. Street got into the foster care system, where it is implied that he had a rough time. When Street was 12 years old, his mother, Karen Street, was arrested by future SWAT Team Leader Buck Spivey for murdering her abusive husband/Street's father, Eddie Street. ![]()
